Anonymous good question – and deserving of an answer.
Re: The Psychopath Test (posting of 9/10/11)
Reader’s Question: Anyway, to your point of the psychopath and/or sociopath potentially lurking within our corporate executives and politicians, would this not also include members of our ‘justice’ system?
True’s Answer: Absolutely. I would say that the percentage of psychopaths in law enforcement, and the justice system in general, is twice the percentage of psychopaths in the general public, or roughly 2%.
For the psychopath, law enforcement and the perceived dominance of others would be an attractive professional option to the psychopathic personality.
Some of this 'hiring boards' attempt to prevent through the interview process and psychological testing. And, sometimes they succeed, but not always. I still believe that the 2% figure is a good approximation.
Now, if you'd like to discuss some foreign police agencies, like Mexico, that percentage would be much higher.
