I’d like to address two recent comments / questions received
from readers.
Reader said: “There have been a couple of different blogs
that say the Kyron Horman case may have been a ‘rescue mission’ by Terri or the
school district to protect him from being abused. One of the blogs says LE
knows this and backed away from investigating it because it was a family case
and not a criminal case and the abuse issues were being addressed. Any comments?”
True’s Response: Highly
unlikely, and I’d be willing to bet a large sum of money that this is nothing
more than someone’s fantasy theory. I
have, at times, said that anything is possible in the Kyron inquiry. This theory is, however, an exception to that
rule.
Reader said: “You do not think he will be convicted in
spite of the evidence and yet you wanted Terri Horman arrested and tried for
capital murder? I can't make any sense
out of the way you think.”
True’s Response: For
the sake of clarification, the reader is referring to some of my comments
regarding Jerry Sandusky (the Penn State investigation) (and taken out of context); and has related that
to a previous comment I posted concerning Terri Horman and my belief that she
should be prosecuted without delay.
I thought that I had made this fairly clear in the past, but
I need to reiterate my explanation and my, perhaps, off-hand comment regarding
Terri Horman.
Kyron had been missing for more than a year when I made that
comment. At the time I stated my belief
that Terri (let’s face it – the principal suspect) should be brought into
court, charged with a crime, tried – and let the chips fall where they may. Someone, a reader, promptly asked, ‘charged
with what?’ And, I shot back with 'capital murder.' I’m sure this shocked
some people. Some others undoubtedly
breathed an ‘amen.’
Let me explain. At
the time, I still believed there was an outside chance that Kyron was
alive. Law enforcement had continually,
or at least they did previously, hint that they knew more about Kyron’s
disappearance from a public grade school then they were prepared to
release. Nonetheless, regarding their
investigation, they seemed at that juncture to be stalled somewhere in the ‘horse
latitudes;’ and hoping, I’m guessing, that the public would ultimately lose
interest in the case.
Personally, I had evolved to the point, where I didn’t
really care if Terri was convicted or not.
My priority was concerning Kyron’s whereabouts. Secondarily, I wondered what the Sheriff’s
Office knew about the disappearance / abduction of a child from an elementary
school. There comes a time when law
enforcement owes it to the public to release something, even a theory based on
their best information. Was this a
possible abduction by a stranger? Have
they eliminated that possibility? If so,
how did they draw that conclusion? Is
Terri an actual suspect, or is she not?
Basically, is there a continuing danger to other children?
It seemed like the only way to get that information was to
get Terri Horman into court, and to present the evidence – both for and against
her involvement in Kyron’s disappearance.
Since then, more time has passed; and we’ve really heard
nothing from the Sheriff’s Office. The
FBI appears to have folded their tent.
The task force exists only in name.
The only conclusion we can draw from this silence is that they feel
Kyron is no longer alive.
Terri remains free; but living under a shadow.
What is the public to think?
My answer. Kyron is no longer living;
the whereabouts of his remains are unknown.
Law enforcement is paralyzed with concerns that they might lose a high
profile case, resulting in some embarrassment and professional repercussions; and,
therefore, they have decided to do nothing at all.
There is a saying in the military: ‘Lead, follow, or get out of the way.’ The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the
District Attorney’s Office have chosen none of those options. And, folks, there is absolutely nothing we
can do about it. Well, there is one thing. We can express our opinions.
True Nelson

This is another good post True. Thank you. I am confounded by the way this case has been handled. From what I read at another website, Kyron did not leave the school with Terri. The police know that and they have a sketch of the person he was seen leaving the building with. My question is: At this late date, with no apparent progress in the case, why wouldn't LE release the sketch? What purpose does it serve to hold that back? It is scary to think that this person is still free, even if he did this crime at Terri's direction. I do wonder if David Durham is involved somehow and the police have not released the sketch because his picture is out there as a wanted individual for another crime. I believe that the citizens of Multnomah County should be putting pressure on law enforcement regarding this case and the lack of information and progress, especially if they are Skyline parents. Unless, of course, they (Skyline parents) have more information than the general public and aren't allowed to say anything. Either way, if law enforcement is afraid of looking bad or being perceived as "the agency that blew the case", it's too late. We already think they blew it. They apparently have no case, so I guess there's nothing for them to lose at this point. If anything ever happens in this case, LE had better have some darn good reasons for acting as they did. My feeling is that we'll all be disappointed when/if we ever hear an explanation.
ReplyDeleteYou're a laughing stalk.
ReplyDeleteYou've made fantasy claims Kyron was sold and traded to a foreign country by countless of Terri's friends and yet you think it's a fantasy to think Kyron may have been rescued by the school because of sexual abuse by his dad?
So are you pretending to have worked as an FBI agent, or are you writing disinformation for them, or did you fall off the deep end? Seems you will not consider any possibility that does not point towards Terri Horman's guilt. This is the tunnel vision that led to dead ends with LE.
I'm thinking since you discount it as a fantasy after all of the wacko theories you've posted, it is more believable to me than it was before.
My, True. You manage to roil up the most entertaining responses. Tell me: Are you a stalk of laughing celery? Or are you more in the corn family? Your ideas are as valid as any others; no one except the perpretrator can tell us what happened to Kyron (certain "in-the-know" bloggers aside). I do believe MCSO and the prosecutors are hoping a body turns up. And I do believe they owe us an update; something more meaty than the number of three-ring binders they've filled. The very questions you ask regarding the possibility of a stranger abduction, etc. should be asked by an insistent, competent reporter. Good luck with that, eh?
ReplyDeleteI agree that the citizens of Multnomah County need to rise up and hold LE and the DA's office accountable for this investigation and demand some answers. I also hope the rumors are true that these crazy nutballs who have attached themselves to Team Terri will someday be held accountable for aiding and abetting her, as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's laughable that some will grasp at any straw as long as it isn't attached to the woman who lied to investigators, can't account for several hours of her time, walked on on an LDT, tried to have her husband killed, sexted a practical stranger in her "grief," was generally known as the town psycho, and never lifted a finger to help Kyron *or* to try to see her baby daughter. Now we are to believe an entire school system is behind this attempt to "hide" Kyron from Evil Kaine?
I'll tell you what that is: wishful thinking. Anybody but Terri!
Bravo, True! Thank you for saying it like it is. I am so angry and disgusted with LE for the way they have let this case go on and how it has been handled. I honestly believe that some unidentified person lured Kyron from school that day and still presents a danger to children everywhere. Whether or not said suspect has any ties to Terri remains a mystery. I think MCSO and the DA are covering their arses by saying and doing NOTHING. They need to admit that they screwed up and are starting over. They need to share their description of Kyron's abductor and some sort of theory with the public. It just makes me so angry and sad. Thank you for keeping this story on the front burner and for working on it. I wish there was something that we all could do to get some action on this case. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteTrue, I have wondered all this time if this August 2010 assault on a boy in Beaverton might be a connection to Kyron's case.

It's obvious Terri is guilty..either doing away with Kyron herself or by screwing ( in more ways than one) the wrong people. Schools don't disappear kids to save them from their fathers...lol, what a nut job! LE ALWAYS holds info back so I'm certain they know more than we do. LE just needs more evidence and that's what breaks my heart, not knowing if Terri will ever pay for what she's done. We certainly don't want another baby killer like Casey freed by ignorant jurors. God Bless Kyron! True, thanks for keeping Kyron's name alive.
ReplyDelete*Standing Ovation*
ReplyDeleteThey botched the investigation from the giddy-up, now they are truly paralyzed and just trying to avoid it. Now what...how do we get the media to put pressure on LE to make a comment on this? Are our children in danger or not? If not, why is Terri Horman not in custody?
None of us really know what happened to Kyron, except those involved w/his disappearance. Because this world hosts so much evil, stupidity, selfishness, complacency, and straight up laziness, Kyron is gone and we don't know where he is. I blame those who disappeared and hurt this precious child and those who are responsible for finding him. All this abuse and murdering of kids should never happen, but it does because of the above. Kyron could be dead, he could be alive. He could be in a horrible nightmare or not. We don't know and to draw conclusions about whether he is dead or alive is a disservice to him and all missing persons. I for one will not take his flyer off of my truck until he is found. Not a day goes by in which I don't pray and look for him. To Terri, your time will come. You can count on it.
ReplyDeletewant to thank the above anonymous poster for laying out the law the way it was designed...and calling out the human condition as the culprit here on all sides of the issue.
ReplyDeleteLoose tongues never won any wars.
This case has been strange from the beginning when they did not announce this child missing as a family group in press conference until days later. I don't feel much pressure was put on anyone to get to the bottom of what happened, not by LE, not by the local media. People were interviewed, information gathered and then...nothing. LE claimed they had shocking info ...then nothing. Principal gets transferred, people in the area move, Terri gets high powered attorney and all interviews of her stop, no further word on the landscaper. I don't feel this was a stranger abduction at all. For whatever reasons - LE decided to stop (in my opinion) and I only wish that private investigators could be hired to aggressively look into the planned abduction of Kyron. Thank you.
