"The Letter," a short story by True Nelson

Readers, I just posted another short story on my sister blog  onlinetruestories.com .  This story is titled:  “The Letter.”  I hope some of you will take the time to read my most recent effort.

Understandably, most of you who have followed this blog are interested more in current events and actual cases; and the thought of reading a short story does not particularly peak your interest.

The short stories that I have written (and I’m hoping others will also participate) are theme related.  Sometimes, you will be amazed at what you might learn about law enforcement, the criminal justice system, investigations, and the personnel who live them on a day to day basis.  It is not always pretty.  Sometimes, it is very ugly and nearly defies description.

As far as potential participation by others, I would be looking for short stories, essays, photographs, and even poems that fit within the above described theme’s criteria.

I will certainly give everyone proper credit for their submissions.  I would like to offer some sort of prize for the ‘best’ submission during a given period – which may very well be a mute point if no one chooses to participate.  We’ll see how that goes.  Anyway comments or advice are always appreciated.

Nonetheless, I will continue this particular blog - True at True Associates.

Regarding a recent question from a reader as to whether or not I was aware of the “Franklin Scandal.”  I did not recall it, but did some research.  This occurred in Omaha in approximately 1990.  This appears to be an interesting case, a highly controversial case that was ultimately designated a hoax.  Many believe it was not a hoax, but a cover-up.
